Tart

From Freepedia

For the 2001 film, see Tart (film).

A tart is a pastry dessert, similar to a pie, but different in that the top is open and not covered with pastry. The tarte Tatin is a particular kind of "upside-down" apple tart.

Also, a tart is a British colloquialism for a prostitute or a woman thought to be sexually promiscuous. See Tart card.

Tart can also mean someone who complains a lot, or takes things too seriously. This take on the word was illustrated in the British sitcom, Only Fools And Horses.

There is also a book titled Tart Noir, released in 2002 by several authors. It comprises twenty stories promoting women as both feminime and capable heroines.
