Tebu people

The Tebu are a people that live mainly in Chad, but also in Libya, Niger and Sudan. The Tebu number roughly 200,000; they live in nuclear families and are predominantly farmers. The most prominent religion of the Tebu is Islam, and they speak the Tebu language.
The identity and grouping of the Tebu is based on language, not geography.
