The Playhouse is a 1921 film written and directed by Buster Keaton. The movie runs for 22 minutes, and features Keaton playing almost every single role.
The film's most famous sequence is the first half. Keaton attends a variety show. In the sequence, he plays the audience, the orchestra, the conductor, the actors, dancers, stagehands, minstrels and a monkey.
The second half of the film features Keaton's character pursuing a girl who happens to be a twin, and he can't remember which he has fallen for.
The film also stars, uncredited, Virginia Fox as the twins and Joe Roberts as another actor on the stage. Edward F. Cline co-wrote the production.
The film's most famous quote is that of an audience member who states "This Keaton fellow appears to be the whole show!"
