The Pure Hell of St Trinian's was a comedy film set in the fictional St Trinian's School, made in 1960.

Directed by Frank Launder and written by him and Sidney Gilliat, it was the third in a series of four films starring well-known British actors such as George Cole as " Flash Harry", and Cecil Parker as Professor Canford, John Le Mesurier as the Minister of Education, Joyce Grenfell as Sergeant Ruby Gates, a local policewoman, and Lloyd Lamble as Superintendent Kemp-Bird (the reluctant fiancee of Ruby Gates).

Raymond Huntley appeared as the Judge, Cyril Chamberlain as the Army Captain, Sid James as Alphonse O'Reilly (who was nicknamed 'Wyatt Earp' by the girls), and Irene Handl who appeared as Miss Harker-Parker, the school headmistress.

The Civil Servants of the Ministry of Education were played by: Eric Barker as Culpepper-Brown, and Thorley Walters as Butters.

Plot

The Sixth Form girls are kidnapped and are forced to defend themselves against the 35 sons of an Emir in Arabia, who want the girls as their wives. This time, the girls are grateful for the help of Ruby Gates. Finally, the Fourth Form girls come to the rescue of the Sixth Form girls.
