The Tomato hornworm (Manduca quinquemaculata L.) is a green caterpillar, the larval form of a moth of the Sphingidae (Sphinx) family common throughout the American continent.
An insect pest of tomato, it can also attack eggplant, pepper, and potato. It is closely related to (and sometimes confused with) the tobacco hornworm (Manduca sexta L.).
