Tongliao

Tongliao (SC: 通辽, TC: 通遼; pinyin: Tōngliáo) is a prefecture-level city with 324,300 inhabitants (as of 31st of December of 2001) in the East of Inner Mongolia in the People's Republic of China. Tongliao Power Station is here. Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities and Inner Mongolia College of Farming and Animal Husbandry are among the educational institutions of Tongliao. Not far from Tongliao are silica sands.
