Tracy Neve

From Freepedia

Tracy Neve (also incorrectly spelled Tracey) is a British former model of the Page 3 genre who pushed back the frontiers of the genre in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Born 1968, Warlingham, Surrey, England; Neve was signed up by tabloid newspapers eager to jump on the big boobs bandwagon after the success of Samantha Fox. Neve's impressive DD bust and Irish/Gypsy looks made her highly popular.

At this time, Page 3 girls appeared topless only and in black and white—nude work considered to end a career. Men's magazines and nude work were considered what B or C list models did; Neve moved into this field and for a time could be seen nude in top-shelf magazines the same week she was topless and cheesecake in family newspapers.

She took part in a long running series for the magazine Parade run by David Sullivan, and went nude in Penthouse. Her work appears tame now but was raunchy for the time, appearing oiled up and in some shots, breaking another taboo by appearing nude alongside men (albeit fully dressed ones).

Neve also made a striptease video for the UK market, albeit playing the character of a stripper and not herself. It was little surprise that with the conventions of the time, she chose to go no further and soon announced she was retiring at the age of 21 as she was pregnant with her older lover's child.

Neve's other claim to fame has been the number of unattributable Internet myths circulated about her in the years since 1990. She has been said to have had serious alcohol problems; serious health problems due to many years of alcohol abuse; to have appeared on Canadian TV discussing her battle with the bottle; to have attempted a comeback in her mid 30s to seemingly avoid financial ruin. Not one of these allegations has yet been been proven; however, rumours of such behaviour persist. Neve's supporters insist that she is like many topless models of the time in which she just seeks to lead a life as a private citizen without media attention. However the one incident that seems to nurture the many rumours of a problem with alcohol stems from an arrest for public drunkeness in London on St. Patrick's Day in 1991. Reportedly Ms. Neve was picked up by London Metropolitan Police that afternoon whilst in a highly intoxicated state. According to published news reports of the day, she was seen by witnesses staggering in and out of traffic in Kilburn High Road, Northwest London. Ms. Neve later dismissed the incident as a complete misunderstanding and denied she was drunk at the time. This ran contrary to what several witnesses at a local Kilburn area public house told reporters at the time. Many of those interviewed by the press said Ms. Neve began drinking heavily earlier that morning and was "hopelessly" drunk by mid-afternoon when the arrest for public drunkeness was effected by members of the London Metropolitan Police. Many of those interviewed also said Ms. Neve was a regular at the pub, and was known to be a heavy drinker, who would often get so drunk she would lose all sense of self control.
