Traditional Korean medicine

From Freepedia

Traditional Korean medicine developed alongside and from Chinese medical techniques and procedures. Chinese medical texts and training in Korea go back to the Goryeo Dynasty, with Korean medical texts such as the Hyangyak Gugeupbang beginning to appear in the 12th and 13th centuries. Korean medicine continued to advance during the Joseon Dynasty under Confucian direction. Techniques in treatment and approach are similar in the main to Chinese medical techniques.

Four types of constitutions analysed under pin the beginnings of Korean medical analysis: taeyin, soyin, taeyang, and soyang which correspond to the Chinese ying-yang energy system.
