Province of Trento

Trento (Italian Provincia autonoma di Trento, German Autonome Provinz Trient) is an autonomous province in the autonomous Trentino-South Tyrol region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Trento.

It has an area of 6,207 sq km, and a total population of 477,017 (2001). There are 223 communes in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics Istat, see this link).
