USS Pompano

Two ships of the United States Navy have borne the name USS Pompano, named named for the pompano, one of the best of food fishes, a marine carangoid living in the southern Atlantic and Gulf coasts of North America.
- The first, Pompano (SS-181), was a Porpoise-class submarine, launched in 1937 and lost in 1943.
- The second, Pompano (SS-491), was a Tench-class submarine. Her construction was cancelled in 1945.
