Venta

Venta is a river in north-western Lithuania and western Latvia. Its source is near Kuršėnai in the Lithuanian county of Šiauliai. It flows into the Baltic Sea in Ventspils in Latvia.

Cities along the Venta include Mažeikiai (Lithuania), Kuldīga and Ventspils (Latvia).

Other historical names for this river include Venta (Latvian, Lithuanian), Windau (German), Windawa (Polish).

Venta is also a name of a Lithuanian furniture manufacturer.
