Virginia (Acadh an LĂșir in Irish) is a town located in County Cavan, Ireland. It was founded in the early 17th century, and named after Queen Elizabeth I of England.
It is situated on the N3 road between Navan and Cavan on the shores of Lough Ramor. It lies 80km from Dublin, and it was a stopover point for the coaches going from Cavan to Dublin in the 19th century. In more recent times, Virginia is connected to the capital by an hourly busservice from Bus Eireann.
