WCW World Tag Team Championship
From Freepedia
The WCW World Tag Team Championship was the major tag team title in World Championship Wrestling from 1991 to 2001, when the promotion closed.
History
The first WCW World Tag Team Champions were Doom, who were the NWA World Tag Team Champions when all titles were renamed to reflect the WCW name.
The last WCW World Tag Team Champions (with WCW as an independent company) were Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo, who went on to the World Wrestling Federation in the March 2001 sale to defend the titles there.
Under WWF ownership the titles were still defended and held mostly by WWF stars until a unification match with the WWF Tag Team Championship (now known as the World Tag Team Championship) between The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz. By virtue of a win in that cage match, The Dudley Boyz won both sets of tag-team titles, and thus were the last WCW World Tag Team Champions.
