Warrimoo, New South Wales
From Freepedia
Warrimoo (Elevation: 273 metres) is a small village in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, 75 kilometres west of Sydney, Australia.
The name is believed to come from an Aboriginal word meaning "Eagle" or "Eagle's Nest". The village slogan "Blinky Bill Territory" is in honour of Australian author Dorothy Wall, creator of the popular Blinky Bill series of children's books featuring the adventures of a mischievous koala.
The village came to national prominence during the devastating bushfires of 2001, which claimed several houses along Cross St. while miraculously sparing others.
