Wembley Central station is both a London Underground station and a National Rail station. It is located at Wembley and is on the Bakerloo Line, between Stonebridge Park and North Wembley. It is in zone 4.
The station lies within the Wembley Central shopping arcade.
History
- 20th July 1837: London and Birmingham Railway line opened
- 1842: Station opened as "Sudbury"
- 1st May 1882: re-named "Sudbury & Wembley"
- 1st November 1910: re-named "Wembley for Sudbury"
- 16th April 1917: Bakerloo Line service started
- 5th July 1948: re-named "Wembley Central"
- 24th September 1982: Bakerloo Line service withdrawn
- 4th June 1984: Bakerloo Line service reinstated
