White Room

"White Room" was a single off the 1968 album by Cream, Wheels of Fire. It features the guitar of Eric Clapton, the voice and bass of Jack Bruce, and the drums of Ginger Baker, three of the best-known musicians at the time. Wheels of Fire was the supergroup's second to last release.

It was written by Pete Brown and Jack Bruce. Along with "Sunshine of Your Love" and "Crossroads", it is one of Cream's most famous songs. It reached the top 10 on the charts.

After Bruce wrote the psychedelic guitar pieces, his lyricist, poet Pete Brown grouped colorful four-syllable non sequiturs, producing the acid rock-style lyrics. The combination is often considered one of the shining moments in British psychedelia. "White Room" is also notable for showcasing Eric Clapton's best known use of the wah-wah pedal (possibly aside from "Tales of Brave Ulysses"), in the bridge and extended solo.
