Witchetty grub
From Freepedia
The Witchetty grub (also spelt Witchety grub) is the large, typically 7cm, wood-eating larva of various Australian moths, particularly the Cossid Moth Endoxyla leucomochla (aka Xyleutes leucomochla). Edible either raw or barbecued, it is sought out as a high protein food by Indigenous Australians.
The common name derives from its habitat: the roots of the Witchetty bush. The grubs feature in many Aboriginal paintings.
