Wynonna Judd

Image:Wynonna judd.jpg Wynonna Ellen Judd (born Christina Claire Ciminella on May 30, 1964, in Ashland, Kentucky) is an Award-winning Country Music singer. She often goes by the single name Wynonna (pronounced "Wye-NO-nah"). Her immediate family consists of her mother Naomi, sister Ashley, son Elijah (born December 23, 1994), and daughter Grace (born June 21, 1996).
She sang as a duo with her mother. They were known as The Judds.
Wynonna is an active and vocal member of the Recording Artists' Coalition, an American music industry organization that represents recording artists, and attempts to defend their rights and interests.
Since her career began some of her many, many achievements include no less than 20 #1 singles, a Grammy award and a performance in an all-star line up at the Superbowl opening in 1994.
In November 2003, Wynonna appeared on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show discussing what she described as a "severe" dependency to food. She has been working with the show to lose a signifigant amount of weight and get to the root of her dependency. In September 2005 Wynonna made a second appearance on the show, discussing how she has lost some weight (but not yet at her goal weight) and has patched up a broken relationship with her mother. That same month, in an interview for The Insider, Wynona also talked about being sexually assaulted by an acquaintance when she was younger.
