X'Trapolis

Image:Xtrapolis at Flinders Street Station.jpg The X'Trapolis train (also written as X'TRAPOLIS) is an electric passenger train, designed by the transport technology company Alstom. The trains have high floors, and are available in both single- and double-deck models.

Around 59 three-car trains are currently in operation on the suburban railway network of Melbourne, Australia. Several of them were given names, after people, places, or named by schools. They are: the Croydon West, the Don Corrie, the Flash, the Flinders Flyer, the Iramoo, the Melbourne Rocks, and the Westernport. The last X'Trapolis was introduced to service in Melbourne on the 17th of December 2004. It ran a special trip from Flinders Street to South Kensington and back to mark the event.

X'Trapolis trains are also used by German railways, in Copenhagen, around Paris, in Lisbon, and in Valparaíso, Chile.
